Dr. Thuan Nguyen has a BS in Computer Science, MS in Management Information Systems, and Ph.D. in Information Systems. After teaching over five years in the Information Systems Department in the School of Management at at the University of Texas at Dallas, he joined the UNT faculty in 2017. Before teaching and conducting research in universities, he worked for over 20 years in software engineering and information systems (designing, developing, and administering software and hardware systems in the telecommunication, networking, business information systems, and IT industries) and data analytics. Whether teaching, advising, or mentoring, he provides his students with the theoretical foundation as well as a business perspective of how methods will be applied in the real-world. Such an academic-industry approach enables Dr. Nguyen to provide an in-depth and practical perspective to his students, who benefit from his real-world business experiences. Currently, Dr. Nguyen focuses on artificial intelligence and deep learning in his teaching and research.
